Pitch Pine, Pinus rigida - A medium size, fire dependent tree with stiff twisted needles.  Able to sprout from

burned stems or cut stumps.  Grows on soils low in fertility and moisture; often on coarse sandy plains.  Mature

height:  50' - 70'.
